Hi I’m Val and I want to tell you about how I developed a passion for helping others and why Eric & Co Seize Epilepsy was created.

When we were young kids my brother, Dylan was diagnosed with epilepsy. Battling this disorder was a traumatic experience for our family. Watching on the sidelines as a sibling was hard enough I could never understand how my parents were able to manage. The years have passed, Dylan's seizures are controlled and we are all very grateful to have those nightmares behind us.

My husband Mike and I have two little kiddos of our own, Dani and Eric. They are our world and we would do anything for them. Unfortunately at only three years old Eric was diagnosed with epilepsy. After first hearing this panic set in and all I could think was “this nightmare can’t be happening again”. Eric’s doctors are hopeful that he will outgrow the seizures but as a mom I try to be prepared as possible for the worst. I am determined to find ways to help our family fight this chapter of our lives. The resources available to us are not always affordable or easily accessible. Fortunately for Mike and I we have the means to provide these essentials for Eric but we quickly realized that not all families have the same abilities. And that’s when the idea for a non profit came to mind. After lots of time spent researching, careful planning and support from family and friends Eric & Co Seize Epilepsy was founded in 2023.

Do you fear going to bed at night, paranoid that your child may have a seizure? Are you worried about being away and not able to help in an emergency? Do you stress about how you will get through this financially? Is your child feeling left out or excluded? Are you desperately seeking answers you can't find? If you can relate to any of these questions then you are in the right place! Eric & Co Seize Epilepsy works hard to provide for families struggling and living with epilepsy and we wouldn't be able to do that without the help from our communities. We sincerely thank you for your support and look forward to working together.
